Stay curious!

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it definitely does us humans good! Especially our children! It's such a huge part of learning. Even for adults; we are continually learning! It's fab to think there are still things out ready to be found, to be learned and to be shared.

I've learned many things from teaching but one of the best lessons I've learned, is to learn through having fun. We remember things when we have had fun learning them. And our concentration is much more focused if we have enjoyed it, and been interested in what we are learning about.

As children learning, we are continually learning by asking questions and delving deeper. But why this and why that? As adults, we still need to be asking questions, still learning.

We've all got curious minds. They don't just stop when we leave school or college. I've recently started writing again and for some of my blogs, I've enjoyed researching certain subjects. Our minds still need exercising, no matter what our age! Some things I've half remembered and I've had to look them up but other things, I had no idea about!

I love this next quote from the brilliant Einstein. So he got where he did by being passionately curious, always wanting to know why and how? Love it!

This next quote is lovely too. There's so much out there for us to enjoy, a world to be ventured and loads of postcards to send from different places! When I think of the different countries, continents I've visited, it's a few. I'm happy with my list. There are so many more wonderful places though still left to visit, New York being at the top of that list!
When I think of the future, I must stay curious! It would be so easy to just drop back into doing what I've done for years. But I need to do something new, something different. I need to be asking questions and keeping an open mind to different opportunities.

This next quote made me truely think. I suppose you get caught up in every day life, routines and things you just do without even thinking. When was the last time I did something new or something for the first time? My goodness? I have to think way back! Still thinking! A few years ago when I joined a choir? This quote will stay with me now and hopefully push me on to try more new things!

I think it's important that no matter how old you get, whatever you do with your life or your career, you always need to keep your sense of wonder. In everything from day to day things to the more important things. It keeps each day special. It reminds us to appreciate what we've got, who we've got and where we are in life.

I absolutely love this next quote. We all get bogged down in the day to day and the strains of adult hood. I miss teaching younger children and, at the end of the day, they taught me so much too. Mainly, to keep an open mind and walk around in wonderment. How blessed I've been as a teacher of such amazing, creative minds for all those years! Everything seems simpler through the eyes of a child. Sometimes we over complicate things. I know I do!

  1. Agree wholeheartedly! Curious 2 year olds never stop saying but why! but why! but why! That's how they learn!
