A brew will see you through

A brew will see you through

Where would we be without tea?

I cannot count the times tea has done just this. Seen me through. This artwork from The tea enthusiasts on pinterest is lovely. Tea will always be my fave drink, even over coffee. It is not just the refreshment factor or the fact it compliments so many snacks and meals, it is not just the meeting friends over a cuppa and a piece of cake, or the sipping of a warm mug and reading a book. It is a very nostalgic thing for me, the drinking of tea. My dad was a big tea drinker and drank it in a big pint pot. We would have our Rich tea biscuits and happily drink our tea, side by side, talking about our day. Such lovely memories. This artwork from pinterest reminds me of these times.

A few years ago, I bought two Cornishware pint pots from the lovely Sweet time of Polperro in Cornwall and we all love using them. I love this photo.

I love Cornishware pottery and I love this small business Corniche cards. You can order little tea packs to send to friends or yourself!

This handmade plaque by Behind the times on instagram is so lovely.

I also love Emma Bridgewater, Cath Kidston, Buxton and Orla Kiely mugs to drink my tea in. I love this strawberry themed photo. I love the Emms Bridgewater 'Blooming good tea' mug. Most of my Emma Bridgewater is from Shades of China in Holmfirth or Wentworth garden centre. I do love browsing ebay and Vinted for the older pieces too.

I also love visiting Gallery 2 in Cawthorne, Barnsley and have bought lovely Buxton, Orla Kiely and Sweet William mugs here.

A cup of tea is my first drink of the day. Love this from pinterest. 'Morning Friend' by Herb Dickinson on Red Bubble. I do need caffiene on a morning but it is tea that refreshes me.

On mornings when I am really tired, it is the thought of a cuppa that gets me out of my toasty bed and downstairs.

This should be a ruling!

Tea first, then mentally get ready for the day. In fact, before you make big decisions or do work assignments, you need tea! Tea gives us clarity when we feel overwhelmed and unsure. Things seem a bit clearer when you have sipped this magic drink!

Tea gives us a breather in life. It really does! The ritual of making a cuppa does relax you. I love choosing my cup, vintage or modern. Then my tea bag. Shall I have a herbal one today? Which biscuit goes with this tea? Making tea is a very serious business!

You see it might just look like a simple cup of tea but it is so much more!

There are so many strengths of tea you can make. We love visiting the Pear Tree Pantry at Cannon Hall in Barnsley. Gorgeous, homemade food and lovely drinks. I love their tea colour chart and always have their Ay up! This chart is frok their facebook page.

I  love visiting tearooms with the old fashioned sugar cubes and the pincers to put them in your tea. All part of the ritual.

Enjoying the little things and the everyday rituals in life is so important in de-stressing and relaxing in this very busy world.

When lockdown started and the tearooms and cafes closed, I started using my collection of pots. All my pre loved pottery came out of the cupboard to be loved again.

My daughter and I would use the teapots and have a treat. We brought the tearoom to us!

Just like how High tea was done all those years ago! I love watching Agatha Christie's Miss Marple and love it when they have tea and cake when a visitor arrives. Love the little ceremony of it! So, on an afternoon when I am tired, this is what I need!

I love visiting tearooms and we are very lucky where we live that there are a few lovely ones locally. Thyme Bistro at Cawthorne park is a very friendly place to go after a dog walk. And they have the most lovely metal teapots! As well as fab illy coffee!

I love this memory from the same bistro.

In Barnsley, there is the most wonderful vintage tearooms called The Victorian tearooms, down the Victorian Arcade. It is really cosy and friendly. The homemade cakes are gorgeous, they still offer caffetieres and have the best afternoon teas. It is so special visiting here and stepping back in time. It had such a community feel to it.

It is lovely to sit in a tearoom with a book and a cuppa. This is from the same tearoom.

Old George in Barnsley town centre is another lovely place to sit with a teapot and a book. Such a friendly place, dog and human friendly! I love their teapots, especially the ones with the timers on top that they had!

It is so lovely to sit, sip and read and watch the world go by. Another place to do this is Locke Park cafe in Barnsley. Again, always a warm welcome and dog friendly.

Sitting in or outside to watch the world go by. Love this old photo with the Yorkshire tea. So many photos on my phone!

The Falco lounge is a fab place to sit with your books and tea. Even book club! Love their teapots too!

How lovely to combine your love of tea drinking and reading? I have a little place in the living room where I sit with my books, my cuppas, my handmade bits, my plants and my doggy.

One of my favourite books about tearooms is this one by Vanessa Greene, set in Scarborough.

I totally agree with this quote. I sometimes need tea on a drip!

If you were to test me I surely would be this!

It is also lovely to meet friends and chat over a teapot. Pour the tea and share your problems.

When I think of all the times I have met with lovely family and friends to share tea and cake and open our hearts to each other. The problems dissected and solutions found, the tears mopped up, the reminiscing and the laughter. All of it, around a teapot or tea or coffee cups!

Even Winnie the Pooh and Piglet know how to share tea, and honey together!
I love collecting old fashioned teapots. I remember visiting my gran and grandad and my uncle and the teapot on the table, ready to be enjoyed. Back when I was little, families seem to visit each other more. The kettle went straight on. This is lovely from Word Press on pinterest.

How lovely are the words, "I'll put the kettle and we will have a little chat"? Sometimes, when we are not sure what words of comfort to offer, this phrase does calm and comfort people.

The above phrase is even better when it is followed by "Get the biscuit barrel out!" I miss those biscuit barrels with the lids to keep the biscuits fresh. It is lovely dunking biscuits, as long as they don't fall into the tea!

I do love a custard cream or a chocolate Hob nob as a treat! There are so many biscuits and I love the retro ones. I loved looking at all the different sports on the Sports biscuits and I loved the Nice bicuits too. Love these Agatha personalised biscuits!

There is something so soothing about sharing tea with people. When we have visitors, it is an unspoken rule that the kettle will go on and a cup of tea will be offered!

Tea and friendship go very well together. Fill your cup and your life to the brim!

This may say coffee but it applies to tea also! Savour every drop of life. Love this from Nana on pinterest.

As it is getting colder, we love to snuggle up with a cuppa on the settee. It is lovely to get all cosy. Love this from Tea Pro on pinterest.

I love this photo of one of my favourite books Cosy. It is so inviting! With my little red teapot and roses too.

Tea does make you feel loved. I love this pinterest quote but I do like to rhyme so it is also a hug in a mug!

Tea is a lovely break. It is like pressing the pause button on the day or evening. A time, for you, to re set and re adjust.

Drinking tea promotes mindfulness and helps us to de stress in this busy world.

I love this from pinterest. So simple!

Browsing my pins, I was reminded of this one from  love teaand it made me smile. I want one of those teasmaids from the 1980s that made you a cuppa on a morning in your bedroom!

When you are feeling under the weather, it is lovely when someone brings you a cuppa.

As long as they make it how you like it!

This made me laugh! It is such a big thing that folk make it for you!

Tea is our friend. It soothes and comforts. We need to make sure our cups are full of comfort though.

I love this pinterest quote. Always check on yourself as well as your family and friends.

This is good advice too!

Life is about connections and bonding with your folk. Enjoy your friendships and your tea!

The taking of tea enables people to come together and talk. People feel heard and cared for.

I love this quote too. When things get overwhelming, take it one step and one tea cup at  time.

Whatever you are drinking! There is a tea for every mood!

I love Yorkshire tea so much and follow them on facebook. Love this post they shared.

My aunty gets me the redbush tea from Ringtons. Such lovely memories of the Ringtons van delivering to gran when I was little! A lovely community ritual being continued! I follow them on facebook and this was one of their posts.

I also love teapigs, Twinings and Tick Tock tea. Cornish tea is fabulous too. Here is one of my selections of teas.

My fave herbal tea is anything with rose. I love the fragrance and taste. This artwork from Marit Cooper pinterest.

My friend and I met in a lovely coffee house in Barnsley called Have it and the artisan coffee and teas were amazing. I loved their herbal teas with the dried flowers that opened up in the hot water. We really miss this special place.

You have to have good tea bags in your life! Don't settle for less!

I also follow a fab page on facebook called Lady Teapots. I love this post. Because it does!

And I totally agree with this too!

So, keep drinking the tea, having the conversations and having some 'me' time. Just as I wake up to tea, it my last drink of the day. As the One Direction song goes ...
