Simple is the best!
Simple is the best!
I loved Tina Turner and had to sing that title! In a world of excess, clutter and noise, searching for a more simpler way of life and simpler times is a necessity. I have already written a blog about the more simpler things and growing up in more simpler times. I have made massive steps towards simplifying my life and freeing up more time to relax.
I have made more time to 'stop and smell the roses' on dog walks and it has really helped me relax more. Living in the moment does help your stress levels and stop you worrying as much.
I do think slowing down your pace of life is a good thing, when you can! Sometimes, this is just not possible, juggling everything, being so many roles to so many people, working and studying. Step back, when you can and see if you can pause a bit.
When we keep going too fast, squeezing too much in, feeling overwhelmed, we need to stop and rest. If we don't, our bodies will.
I loved my busy mum life when my daughter was growing up. I loved every minute of play areas, parties, shows, swimming and dance lessons and everything else! I am so glad I threw myself into this and have so many wonderful memories. Now though, I do have a slower pace and a less hectic social schedule. I don't organise as much and have more periods of rest in between! I am not as young as I was then either!
The slower pace of life is really good for me as I do love going out and was a very busy social butterfly when I was growing up andcas a young mum. Now though, I love to go out but I also look forward to coming home and reading my book!
It is important to recharge your batteries, mentally and physically. You can feel tired in your mind too, not just your body.
When you feel overwhelmed by everything, slowing down helps. Trying not to do the whole To do list helps too! Tick one thing off at a time.
You may have had a busier life and that was fantastic when you did but when you are ready to relax and rest more, that's fine. We change as we grow older and crave different things. A slower life does not need to be a boring or less interesting life!
It is good to slow down. It is good to experience things we may have missed in rushing about.
This is so cosy. This makes me happy.
I love this quote from pinterest. Quieting all the noise.
We do live in a time where folk feel they need to be busy. Where they feel something has to be being done all the time. I was the same. I felt lazy when I rested or felt I had wasted a morning resting in the settee. These times are really important though. More isn't always necessarily better. Sometimes, less is more.
Focusing on the little things is really beneficial to our wellbeing. Enjoying the simple routines in the day, like making a cuppa and reading a book.
This book looks lovely. I feel I may benefit from reading it.
I am much calmer than I used to be. I kind of save it all up now and have the odd outburst! I do feel more able to react to stressful situations than I did before.
I love this quote. Slowing down your life on a purpose.
We do need to be busy and active at times to get stuff done. It is still lovely to slow down and enjoy the little things. The Swedes call this fika.
I love the idea of sometimes being 'offline'. We live in s society where we are able to be reached pretty much 24/7 with our mobile phones. Sometimes, we need to go into the countryside and just be.
Go into the forest, be among the trees, look up to the sky and take it all in.
Or create your own 'offline' space in your own home. Somewhere you can go to rest, have a cuppa and read a book.
So, when you get chance, sit and rest. I really love this quote. Alone time is so important. Be your own good company!
Love my me time in this fast world of ours!
