Photos
I have always loved taking photos from being young. Back when we had to wait for them to be processed, wondering excitedly how they would turn out. As teenagers, we would open the envelope and laugh at the majority of them. Perhaps five out of the twenty something had turned out well! Some had thumbs over one corner and others were blurry. I did improve over time though! It was all about collecting memories of fab times with special people. To be able to relook at them with friends and family and remember the fab times. I love this Ed Sheeran lyric. It always made me think of a wrinkled up photo in his pocket that he took out to look at.
It was a way of having evidence and something in print for moments that could never be acted out again, exaclty as.
This is very good advice. I used to make up loads of photo albums and loved revisiting them. Now, I tend to look at all my photos on my gallery on my phone or on facebook. I need to go back to albums or make those photo books which are brilliant. We also had one of those photo frames with photos on a loop. I loved that! This quote shows that you just need to take the photos. You can always edit them later!
Without it taking over your experience of the event, take the photos. You are enjoying the moment but also giving you and others a return trip. A special moment frozen in time.
I don't know about my storage being unlimited on my phone! It is full of dog photos, my pottery and my books! I do love seeing them in my gallery!
I love taking photos of people, of laughing with those you love spending time with. Photos where the love shines out of everyone's faces. Special moments captured forever. When you look back at the photo, you can remember how you felt in that moment.
We all have times where we wish we had taken a photo. We wished we had captured the scene. Or we see a moment to capture, get our phone out and the scene has moved on. This is mainly when pets or wildlife are involved! I once took forever waiting to capture a dragonfly but I perservered. So too with the marvellous kingfisher and wonderful robin. One of my best wildlife was the very spontaneous photo of the heron at Cawthorne. Veru proud of that one!
I try to take them on my phone wherever I can but need to get a new camera. I never had a polaroid but remember my long, blue camera from Boots I would take to Klick to be processed.
I love taking photos of my dog walks too. I love taking them of trees and sunsets. They never do them justice though. Seeing it with your own eyes can't be beaten!
So take the photos and create a visual memory box. If you are nostalgic and love looking back on past moments, take the photos!
This is such a good quote about life. Keep going, keep editing and don't accept the first draft. Don't stop until you are happy.
I love this quote also. Use the lens of your life to focus on those who matter. Prioritise who and what deserves your time. Who has earned a place in your photo frames and albums.
I love this quote too, from pinterest.
And this one from pinterest! Try to stay positive!
Photos are universal; they can be accessed by anyone and everyone. They do not need interpreting.
Photos don't need words as they speak for themselves.
They are also individual to the person taking them and the person interpreting them. I didn't see it like this until I read this pinterest quote. The relationship between photographer and viewer.
Another clever way of looking at it!
This too. I am not a great photographer. Far from it!
I do love my dog walking and stopping and smelling the roses. As I amble, I look around at nature and take it all in. A new found mindfulness as I have got older, an appreciation of the beauty of my surroundings. As I look, I see the scenes that would make good photos. Sometimes I take them, others my sis in law or best friend take them and I share them on my blog.
I love taking photos in every season, for my blog but I particularly love Autumn and its vibrant colours. This quote made me laugh.
I love to go through the photos I have taken and share them. We have lots of lovely places to visit where I live and I love sharing these local gems. Taking photos of sunsets, of flowers and of the sky, all remind you how amazing nature is and how lovely local places are.
Photos aren't just about keeping moments to relive. They are about the memories held in them. The people and places who are special to you. Those sepia photos from days gone by, holding so much love and laughter. Precious to those left to live without them.
I do love vintage photos and the stories behind them. I love my antique jewellery and often wonder about the stories behind them. The old polaroid photos of me and brother as children are priceless. Not so sure about the school photos though with our basin haircuts!
Each old photo in the family, passed down, holds memories. I loved looking through my grandparents' photo albums and tins, so many with my parents' too! Me asking who and where everyone was, lapping up my family history and enjoying hearing lovely, and funny stories! Some sad and brave stories too. All told through photographs.
I do wonder, now, about the conversations in years to come. Facebook memories are brilliant for holding stories so I suppose social media will play a big part in this. I still love the vintage cameras and photos though.
Photos are so good to refer back to, when you are feeling sad and nostalgic. They are also a way of remembering people together. Having the 'remember when' chats. Each photo tells a story or has an old story waiting to be found out!
I am only an amateur but I do love taking photos on my walks and on my visits to coffee shops. It is lovely to pause, take the world in, capture the moment and share it. My best friend and sis in law take lovely photos that I share on my blog. We are all novices but really enjoy taking photos and sharing them with each other. We love pausing the moment.
We don't try to get our photos perfect. We just love framing the scene in front of us and being a bit, what we call, arty farty! We are in awe of the professionals who spend a long time on each take and are very skilled at what they do. On a daily basis though, we click away and appreciate our surroundings.
I love this idea of making more out of the ordinary things, of creating something special.
It is the little details in life that can spark joy. The camera captures these for us. It can focus in on details that we may miss and only realise after.
Get taking photos! Pause the moments and create special memories. Say cheese! Love this from Etsy on pinterest!
